Draft logo

For my logo draft I have decided to make the logo for my baseball club “Buff Bee Baseball”. I created this logo with Adobe illustrator and the first thing i wanted to do way base my logo around baseball because that is what I wanted everyone to think of when they see the logo of my club. I used the curved line and a dashed line stroke to make the slanted baseball. I put it slanted to make it look like it was almost moving. I then decided to put a gold star around my baseball to leave it there by its self and i thought a star would be very good for finding top athletes because everyone knows that a star is a symbol of excellence. If you see a star on an athlete or a restaurant you know that they are very good or have great qualities. I then thought that my logo was too basic so I looked online for another something to put behind. I decided that wings would be something that my logo could use, I think that they give it a more exciting look and make my log bigger. I got the wings online from a tattoo designer that goes by the name of Darren Purdy.  He is a Tattoo artist in the United Kingdom. Lastly putting the name of my club into the logo was very important to me because I want people to see my logo and know what the club is for and what they could look up to find my logo. From starting knowing nothing about illustrator I am proud of the work I completed. I think that I still have some work to do with my logo because it does not look as nice as I would like it to but I hope that I can make some edits.

Graphic Design Project

My baseball Club Buff Bee Baseball will be holding tryouts for kids to join the baseball club. I have decided to create a poster to reach out to families and kids so they will be appealed to join my club. Picture 1 (Top left) was taken by my close friend and fraternity brother Dakota Cruz. I thought this picture would start it off the poster nicely. Using the picture I used my new Photoshop skills to highlight myself and the baseball to make it look happy and pop out a little more with a darker background. Picture 2 (Top Right) was taken by a close family friend Bridget Bilotti a avid photographer who took this picture of me playing and sent it to me through Facebook. this picture really highlights the baseball aspect of colors and action. I faded out some of the background to highlight the playing field. The final picture(Bottom Right) was taken by a highschool friend Aj Chappell I decided to use this picture to show that the club is more than baseball. Buff Bee baseball doesn’t only teach kids how to play baseball at a elite level but, teaches kids how to be a better man. One of the main goals of this club is something that I have learned being in my fraternity at WSU. I am not planning on copying their slogan or ideals of being men but, what they look for to be a PIKE is called S.L.A.G. This stands for Scholars Leaders Athletes and Gentlemen. My goal is to incorporate these ideals into the young men of my program. I strive to push academics very strongly and remind them constantly to put their best foot forwards into their school work because how important it is. Another main ideal I want to focus on is actions, I want my students/athletes to strive to do more and talk less. I believe that actions do speak louder than words and kids should live their careers by that motto and get their work done with their heads down and then look up.

The main edit I have made to my graphic design project is I have added a black border to the outside of the poster. This way when you view it especially with the White background of WordPress it now does not blend in. It is now easier to especially see the white area where I have put my words. This was the most constructive comment I received on my post.

Topic Introduction Post

To start off the unit of Com 210 I would like to start up my own club baseball team. I have yet to come up with a creative name to call this club baseball team but, the main idea is to provide a competitive baseball team for ages 13 to 18. Having multiple teams that are well respected with year long training. I want this club to not only teach kids how to compete and respect the game of baseball and each other. When I was growing up I participated in club baseball and actually had a family friend start up his own club. We continued to play together for years and it was a lot of fun for me and I would like to manage my own club when I am older. Throughout this class I could make multiple assignments by creating my club and show other people how to start a business. When I create my logo for for this club I would like to show off a mix of physical training and baseball so I was thinking that I could incorporate weight training and baseball into my logo. For my audio story I could use three other people that played in club baseball and show some positive and negative aspects of what I would want to incorporate into my league. I also could use my inspirational poster to help reach out to find kids and help me recruit kids that could potentially join my club. I really want to look into the physical aspect of training so I want to put a lot of my baseball promotion to be linked with lifting weights. Because everyone wants their athletes to be big and strong. https://www.heraldnet.com/sports/players-from-all-walks-of-life-show-up-for-ms-open-tryout/ this is a link to my conditioning coach Jason Salers who I want to be a part of physical training.  Being in prime physical condition will help you a lot with not only baseball but giving yourself more confidence. I would like to create my website to look like http://diamondsportstrainingcenter.com/ because they provide lots of information for different teams throughout the Seattle area and is where I use to train. I also want my logo to look tough and physical like a sports athlete. For example the logo for Vshred https://vshred.com/ simple but gets the point across for everyone to remember what it means.

About Me

Thanks for joining me! Looking forward to starting my blogs for Com 210. I am a second year student at Washington State University looking to pursue a degree in sports management. I have always been severely impacted by sports for as long as I can remember, and that is why I will be gearing lots of my blogs to revolve around the sports world. I am originally from Kent Washington about a 30 minute drive south of Seattle. I graduated from Kentridge high school where I played Football, Basketball and Baseball. I grew up in a house being the middle child with an older brother and a younger sister. I always thought it was fun being the middle child, because I get to be an older and younger brother. In my free time I can usually be found outside in the sun usually playing spike-ball or going to the lake. During the winter I enjoy watching sports especially college and NFL football. I also spend a lot of my time playing video games with my friends. With these blogs I look forward to sharing my ideas and hobbies with my readers. Hopefully you are looking forward to reading my blogs as I am to write them.
