Graphic Design Draft

My baseball Club Buff Bee Baseball will be holding tryouts for kids to join the baseball club. I decided to create a poster to reach out to families and kids so they will be appealed to join the club. Picture 1 (Top left) was taken by Dakota Cruz a close friend. I thought this picture would start it off the poster nicely. Using the picture I used Photoshop to highlight myself and the baseball to make it look happy and pop out a little more with a darker background. Picture 2 (Top Right) was taken by a family friend Bridget Bilotti  photographer who took this picture of me and sent it to me playing. this picture really highlights the baseball aspect of colors and action. I faded out some of the background to highlight the field. The final picture(Bottom Right) was taken by close friend Aj Chappell I decided to use this picture to show that the club is more than baseball. Buff Bee baseball doesn’t only teach kids how to play baseball at a elite level but, teaches kids how to be a better man. One of the main goals of this club is something that I have learned being in a fraternity at WSU. I am not planning on copying their slogan or ideals of being men but, what they look for to be a PIKE is called S.L.A.G. This stands for Scholars Leaders Athletes and Gentlemen. My goal is to incorporate these ideals into the youth of my young men of my program. I hope to push academics very strongly and remind them constantly to put their best foot forwards into their school work because how important it is. Another main ideal I want to focus on is actions, I want my students/athletes to strive to do more and talk less. I believe that actions do speak louder than words and kids should live their careers by that motto and get their work done with their heads down and then look up.

Hello reader! Welcome to my blog for Com 210. in this blog I will be focusing on the sport of basketball. I have always been interested in sports, that is why my major of sports management will help me a lot with accomplishing my goals for this class.

  1. Hi Ryan,
I loved the concept behind your design, the last written portion of your post was a nice read. I enjoyed that you made this very personal and will use this outside of class. Also, it is great that you are taking concepts that you learned here at WSU and will be teaching others the notion of S.L.A.G.
Two suggestions I would give is maybe adding a border around your image. It is very neat and well laid out, but I think it would look a lot better if you added a border to really make your image stand out. Another suggestion I would give is maybe making the “Buff Bee Baseball” logo a little bigger, it is the main focus of your blog and this photo, so creating more attention to it might be beneficial. Overall, I really enjoyed your blog and I appreciated the fact that you used your own photos. Rather than finding photos online you made the post more personal. Nice job!
